Medical machine learning research with UCD RUbiNet on preeclampsia diagnosis from electrocardiograms, producing new results that build on the sole previous paper in the field, by Butler et al. The day to day is biosignal pipelines: preprocessing, data augmentation, cross-validation, mixed-precision training, GradCAM interpretability, and Optuna architecture and hyperparameter search, with convolutional, random-forest, and transformer models trained on HIPAA-compliant Databricks on AWS against EPIC data. On the side, developing autoresearch pipelines with Claude Code and Zotero MCP for autonomous literature review, shadowing Alzheimer's infarct detection from histopathology whole slide images, and helping architect a firewalled campus compute cluster for a multi-agent transformer that self-evaluates its analysis techniques in situ.

Medical machine learning research on transabdominal fetal pulse oximetry, extracting fetal blood oxygen inside the womb from a non-invasive infrared sensor on the mother's abdomen using photoplethysmography. On the hardware side, engineering the infrared emission and sensing to clinical trial standards and testing with human patients in an active hospital; on the model side, training signal processing and transformer models on the collected biosignals.

Led four software engineering interns through Summer 2026 building Polaris, a cold chain logistics and customer order platform with live order and vehicle tracking across the greater Bay Area. Own the architecture and roadmap: scoping and assigning feature work, reviewing every contribution against domain-boundary specs, and working directly with the owner and operations staff on administrative and operational requirements. Built the defense-in-depth security model with fail-closed authorization and RBAC spanning CASL and RLS, Supabase Realtime for live status and location, and the UI principles and brand guide behind the site and sales materials.

Researched preeclampsia diagnosis from ECG waveforms, training 1D convolutional and random-forest decision-tree models with Optuna hyperparameter optimization. Worked in a team of three with weekly presentations to lab faculty and monthly reports, closing the project with a final paper and poster at the UC Davis Senior Design Showcase 2026.
